Nicaragua, It is a country full of strengths when it comes to qualities, but on this occasion we are referring to places where visitors can go sightseeing.
We start with one of the favorites: Immaculate Conception Fortress en Río San Juan, which according to its background dates back to the time of the defense of the national territory when English pirates tried to enter that area of the country to plunder it.
It was built in 1967, in what is now known as El Castillo municipality and declared a historical monument by Decree 527, published in the official newspaper La Gaceta No. 78 on April 17, 1990. Its infrastructure is still preserved, being one of the most visited during the year.
La Coyotepe Fortress, is another of the places that, due to its natural environment, offers panoramic views of the city of Masaya, -where it is located-, walks or marathons, hiking, in addition to taking a look at the history that surrounds this mythical place and that also played a fundamental role in the defense of the sovereignty of Nicaraguans.
Finally, built between the years 1770 and 1785, we find the San Pablo Fortress in the Islets of Granada, another reference that also acted as a protective barrier against those who sought to seize the riches of the land of lakes and volcanoes.
To this day, thousands of curious tourists continue to come and go to all three to learn about their history and the context in which they were built, making them part of the variety of destinations Nicaragua offers to both Nicaraguans and other nationalities.
