“The Diamond of Segovia” Located in the middle of a valley surrounded by plateaus and situated 800 meters above sea level, it offers a pleasant climate. Estelí's geographical position makes it a major center for agrotourism and commercial activities.

Due to its geographic location, relief, climate, vegetation, and economic activities, Estelí is a department where tourists can enjoy a variety of tourism and activities. Its main economic activities are livestock and agriculture; it is internationally recognized for its tobacco cultivation and processing. It boasts a wealth of natural resources, including impressive waterfalls, nature reserves, and pre-Columbian archaeological remains (paleontological).

Estelí's history and popular culture are full of legends, such as the most popular, "La Mocuana." It features a place where artisans work with marble stone. Estelí was recently named the "City of Murals," due to their ubiquitous presence throughout the city. It is also known as the three-times heroic city during the Sandinista Revolution.
