Nicaragua, with a privileged geographical position, has a climate that favors the production of its food, its ecosystems are home to hundreds of natural resources, as well as a diverse idiosyncrasy, culinary traditions and friendly people.
In recent decades, the country has been transforming its tourism offering to offer, both nationals and foreigners, a new concept of travel that, beyond the traditional segments such as sun and beach, has come to give greater relevance to life in the countryside and the sustainable use of natural resources.

This new proposal is called agrotourism, which is not only visiting the countryside to explore crops and contemplate nature, but also getting involved in the daily processes of local life and joining in actions in favor of the conservation of resources and culture.
In Nicaragua it is possible to live it.

Between mists and coffee plantations…
The privileged climate of the northern region, which includes the departments of Jinotega, Matagalpa, Nueva Segovia, Estelí and Madriz, offers the opportunity to learn about coffee production, a grain that is exported to other continents. Corn, beans, tobacco and citrus fruits are also grown in the area, which is also rich in natural treasures such as mountains, waterfalls, rivers and diverse fauna.
Here you can enjoy the uniqueness of the countryside on different farms: waking up to the chirping of birds, the noise of chickens and ducks, the mooing of cows being milked to provide the milk used to make cheese, curds, cream or a delicious cup of coffee with milk to alleviate the cool temperature characteristic of these regions.
Its people, with singular mischief, will be ready to explain to you what time they get up, how far they walk to go to pick coffee or to the cornfield, how they prepare organic fertilizers for their crops, whether or not it will rain during the day, why that bird "sang" at noon, the secret of some soup, the omens of the color of the sun and an endless number of knowledge and traditions that will captivate you.
Rivers of milk and honey…
The epicentre of cattle raising in the country is Chontales, although Boaco is not far behind. The latter also offers coffee growing, beekeeping and rice farming. These two departments share orographic, agricultural, historical, economic and even gastronomical similarities.
An archipelago of some 30 islands nestled in the northeastern part of Lake Nicaragua, they are ideal for families who are dedicated to traditional fishing and community tourism, to live the experience of harmonizing with nature, and to be happy far from the noise of the cities. The tranquility of this natural setting is only interrupted by the din of the birds and the sailing of the local boats or motorboats. In the evenings, the sky is dressed in magical colors. Amerrique, the imposing Chontales mountain range, is full of ancestral, natural and historical secrets to explore and forget the hustle and bustle of the world.
Jungles, beaches and history…
In the south of Nicaragua, the departments of Rivas and Río San Juan offer experiences in contact with nature. The influence of the Pacific Ocean, Lake Cocibolca and the San Juan River give life to many beaches, islands and jungle that await you to live an unforgettable experience with their inhabitants, fishing villages -also-, and synonyms of history and resistance of the country during the colonial era.
Volcanoes, peanuts and sugarcane fields…
The Pacific of Nicaragua invites you to learn about the planting of corn, peanuts, sorghum, sugar cane, musaceae, rice, fruit trees and, in small quantities, coffee. Most of these crops protect or surround large colossi such as San Cristóbal, Telica, Cerro Negro, Masaya, Mombacho and Momotombo, so delving into the daily life of this area is fascinating and challenging with enriching results.
Exquisite cuisine, friendly and enterprising people, outdoor activities, colonial architecture, history, beaches, dreamy sunsets and even the warmth that your life needs, is here.
Tropical and sea…
With a taste of coconut, cocoa and seafood, the Nicaraguan Caribbean region offers diverse options to connect with nature and experience first-hand the daily activities of indigenous and Afro-descendant peoples dedicated to planting cocoa, African palm, roots and tubers.
Reggae, punta, socca, calypso, patua, country, dancehall y souls These are the musical genres that accompany fishing tasks, a Sunday baseball game, a visit to church, afternoon domino games, baking days, and when families cook for their neighbors, while telling anecdotes in Creole, Miskito, Mayangna, Rama, Ulwa, or Garifuna English.
A territory that brings together all the ethnic groups existing in the country and that preserves its own historical and cultural particularities.
