Loma de Tiscapa Historical Park
The Loma de Tiscapa National Historical Park was formerly the Presidential House of the Somozas. This presidential house, built on the Tiscapa hill, was the scene of the peace talks between President Juan B. Sacasa and Augusto C. Sandino from 1933 to 1934, which ended tragically in a betrayal for General Sandino.
In the Loma de Tiscapa Historical Park stands the figure of the General of Free Men Augusto C. Sandino; rooms, museums, Sandino Lives and Nights of Torture. There you will find photographs, writings and a birth certificate of General Sandino, as well as multiple manifestos on national sovereignty written by him. From this site you will appreciate a panoramic view of the city of Managua and its mountain ranges. It is located on the south side of the Crowne Plaza Hotel.
Right there you will find the crater lake of Tiscapa, an extinct volcano after a thunderous explosion dating back 5,000 years. Here you can go hiking guided by park rangers who give tours of the site to visitors and tourists.

Apoyeque Volcano Viewpoint in Mateare
The Apoyeque Volcano is one of the most dangerous volcanoes in the world, it has a lagoon and a protected area with majestic flora and fauna where you can do adventure tourism, hiking, rappelling, bird watching. El Chocoyero Wildlife Refuge - El Brujo
This natural attraction is part of the National System of Protected Areas of Nicaragua. Here you can see more than 180 species of resident and migratory birds, more than 50 mammals such as anteaters and howler monkeys; more than 30 reptiles such as garrobos and armadillos and more than 10 amphibians characteristic of the dry tropical forest. National Zoo of Nicaragua
The zoo, located at kilometer 16 on the highway to Masaya, is the largest in Nicaragua and exhibits more than eight hundred species of national fauna, most of them wild and some domestic, as well as several exotic specimens from far away places such as Africa, Asia and Australia.
