The beauty of its landscapes and the richness of its flora and fauna make it a unique place for responsible ecotourism.

It has a cloud forest at the top that contrasts with the dry tropical forest in the lower areas, making it a special place. At almost 1,400 meters above sea level, it is the fifth volcano in the Nicaraguan chain. Its four craters covered with vegetation and its fumaroles are evidence of its intense volcanic history.
