In our land of lakes and volcanoes, the birth of Félix Rubén García Sarmiento, known as “Rubén Darío,” is a cause for national celebration. Therefore, every January 18th, Nicaraguans enjoy a national holiday.

Through its publication on January 20, 2026 in La Gaceta, the Official Gazette, the National Assembly established this commemoration to honor the father of modernism, recognizing his contribution to Spanish literature, whose legacy remains universally relevant across generations 🇳🇮📜🪶
